Aligning Values with Company Outcomes

Being agreeable helps with forming relationships. At least in the beginning, take the time to get to know people’s values and let them know that you want to serve their goals.

Eventually, there will come a time when you don’t necessarily agree with everything someone says, and you have to speak up about your thoughts on the subject. Remember to have respect for the person you are engaged with, but most importantly yourself.

You want to voice your opinions, but you’re considering whether this is a fight worth arguing about. Ideally, you’d let go of the argument, and make the ego grow smaller.

We need to align our perspectives if we want to understand each others point of view. In fact, for there to be success in communication, its more important to understand the context rather than the content.

It’s not about being right, it’s about having the necessary dialogue to grow the relationship. The end result will make you feel more secure about the relationship you have with the person. While you don’t have to agree with someone, you can always build a stronger understanding with them.
